Asif Saleh has been driving the strategic path of BRAC as the Executive Director. He joined the company in 2011 and is currently concentrating on leading advocacies for social change, information and technology, communications, and social innovation.
As the senior director of the empowerment programmer cluster, Asif also led BRAC’s programmers such as urban development, human rights, legal aid services, skills development, and migration. Asif worked as a policy specialist for the Access to Information (A2i) Programme at the Prime Minister’s Office as well. He led the policy effort to develop accessible internet connectivity across Bangladesh as part of the Government’s Digital Bangladesh programmer, and also formulated the Government’s m-governance strategy.
Asif is the founder of Drishtipat, a global organization with chapters across the globe focusing on the human and economic rights of Bangladeshis. In 2008, he was recognized for his work by Asia Society as a fellow through Asia 21 programmer. Asif was also known as one of the Young Global Leaders by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in 2013.
